It was 68 years ago when Japan surrendered on the 15th of August 1945, ending World War II allowing the total victory of the Allies over the Axis.
World War II was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945. It involved the vast majority of the world’s nations—including all of the great powers—eventually forming two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. It was the most destructive and widespread war in history. It resulted in an estimated 50 million to 85 million fatalities.
We as citizens of this world must not let a war of this magnitude ever happen again.
